Add text label to icon

#1

In Mockups 2, I always wished it was possible to add a text label to an icon after putting it in a mockup. This wasn’t possible then, and isn’t in v3 either. Furthermore, if you search for the icon in the quick-add search box (a great feature by the way), you have no way to select the “icon with label” option.

It’s frustrating to have to delete an icon, re-add it with a text label and then replicate your choices of icon type, size, colour, placement etc. Seems it would be quite simple to incorporate the option for a label in the properties inspector and then not have to maintain the two distinct object types.

Hey Chris, we have a feature planned that will really help with this. We are also often frustrated by this. We don’t have an ETA yet, but help is definitely on the way!

Good to know - thanks!

Hi @Chris_Gatland

We just released our latest version (3.2.2) including the new Swap control type! You can now easily transform your Icon control to an Icon with label control in 2 clicks!

You can get the new version (3.2.2) here:

This is a great feature. I asked for this a few years ago. For me, one of the more common cases is transforming a Label to an Icon and Label. Unfortunately, this does not seem to work. You can transform an Icon to an Icon with Label but not a Label to an lcon and Label.

Hey @ikranz, sorry about the trouble.

Transforming a label into Icon+Label should work in 3.2.2. Is that the version you are running?

If you are, and you are seeing something different, please let us know. That’s something we’d want to get fixed ASAP!
