Bootstrap Grid.bmml - question about bs-grid-xs

#1

I’m new to designing for bootstrap and I’m wondering why bs-grid-xs symbol has a total width of 226 px with 3 columns instead of 320 px with 6 columns. Can anyone please explain? Thanks!

Hey again Joe!

That grid is 226 so that it fits the default iPhone control. That control’s viewport is too small for 320px.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi again Brendan, thanks, I understand now. I’m in the process of adapting a wireframe for a page that I designed to a mobile viewport for our development team. I’m under the impression that is normally scaled to 320 px total with a container of 290 px (15 px gutters). I guess it shouldn’t be too difficult to create a grid similar to the 226 px symbol.

Thanks for your help,
Joe
