[Bug / Feature request] Locked elements treated as background

#1

Hi there,

in my team we’ve found one bug (or a feature missing). For our projects we use the function “Lock in place” a lot. Then when there are some new widgets added, and we want to do the layering and send some widgets to back, they are send also behind the locked elements, so later there is no chance to edit them without unlocking the locked elements.
In our logic, if an emelent is locked, it should be treated as a background element. Or?

Hi @Liubi,

This makes sense and I added the request in our internal tracker so we can think about it for the future. If others would like to see this feature, please let us know (or add your Like/Heart vote above) to help us prioritize this request.

If your locked element is the last layer, the best way to work around this in the meantime would be to use the “Bring Forward” action once (CMD + uparrow or CTRL + uparrow on Windows) when you send an element to back. Also, you may know this already but you can actually select any control even if the locked element overlays it (e.g. when your locked element is a transparent rectangle).

Thanks for sharing your feedback, as always!
