[Bug] non-english characters in rendered mockups are broken

I’m using trial version of myBalsamiq to build some mockups and I’m having a problem.

I use non-english characters in my mockup, most of which are Korean characters. It seems myBalsamiq works quite well in edit mode. However, when I got to project dashboard to see rendered thumbnails, all of non-english characters were broken, which are shown as a bunch of odd rectangular boxes. I tried to modify and save my mockups in editor and then make them re-rendered again and again. But it didn’t help. How can I make them rendered properly?

Hi @Algy,

Sorry for the hassle.

Balsamiq Sans font does not support Korean characters.
No worries, the “Use System Fonts” option sets the font to Arial Unicode.

For displaying Korean characters, please follow these instructions:

  • Open the editor
  • Access the menu view
  • Select “Use System Fonts” so it has a checkmark
  • Save

Happy Wireframing!
