Command Key on Remote Desktop acts to Group Selected Object/s

#1

Working with Mockups on remote desktop (Mac / Mac) - pressing command key acts to group any selected objects - making it impossible to use Command-C/V/X key combinations when working remotely.

Hey @harjeetgulati!

I’m sorry about the trouble. Would you mind shooting us an email at support@balsamiq.com so that we can troubleshoot this.

We’d love to get it fixed!

Thanks

This is an old topic but instead of creating a new one I will resurrect the dead!

I work from home and instead of doubling up on a keyboard and mouse I use Synergy to control my work computer. The command key acts the same way described above. Copy does not work although paste does. When I press Command it groups selected objects.

I’m not sure if this has been fixed or if my issue is a result of hosting keyboard and mouse on a Windows machine and working on a Mac client.

Good afternoon, Necromancer @Schapekahmb.

I wish I had a better answer for this, but when we ran those tests a few years ago, we found that it was a bug within the Adobe Air framework (and how it handled keyboard events over remote sessions). Unfortunately, that means that our hands are tied with fixing it in Mockups 3 for Desktop.

The good news is that we are super close to our native apps being ready for primetime, so this shouldn’t be a problem (and if it is, we can actually fix it).

In fact, I am going to have Florian test this to make sure that it works with the native apps.

I’m sorry that I didn’t have a great answer for you today, my friend, but this hopefully won’t be a bother for much longer.

I am super excited to hear about the invasion of native apps and appreciate the team looking into it. Thank you for the response. I can probably get by for now using the in app buttons.

Have a good day!
