I can't open Balsamiq Mockups 3.5.16 after successfully running the installer

I run Balsamiq_Mockups_3.5.16.exe. The installer completes successfully. After the install, I leave ‘Run Balsamiq Mockups 3.exe’ checked and click ‘Finish’. I then get a pop up saying:

Unable to execute file:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Balsamiq Mockups 3\Balsamiq Mockups 3.exe

CreateProcess failed: code 2.
The system cannot find the file specified

I have looked for the above path on my machine after the install and it does not exist.

Unfortunately, because Mockups 3 for Desktop is so old, most modern Windows systems block the installation of Adobe Air.

To run Mockups 3, you would need to download the bundled version of the app. Once you unzip that, you can just run it - no installation is needed.
