Improved support for wireframing mobile apps?

I’ve just started with Balsamiq and really appreciate the simplicity and focus on functionality over design.

I’m however struggling to use it for wireframing mobile apps. In particular, I’m looking to emulate the experience on an iPhone by creating a linked experience like on the desktop.

Is there any plan to further support this? My biggest challenges are:

  1. Image quality is very poor when exporting to PNG
  2. PNG exports include the phone outline, which I have to manually crop
  3. I have to use another program, causing me to recreate the linking behavior (I’ve been trying POP Prototyping)

Are there solutions to any of these that I’m missing?

Hi again @newton1988!

  1. As I mentioned in the other thread, our PDF/PNG exports will be much better in the next major Desktop version that we’re working on. For now, you can try out our new native web version, Balsamiq Cloud, where the quality had been increased already.

  2. You can easily remove the phone outline by marking it as Markup item. Then, you can simply hide the markup elements before exporting it to PNGs or PDF.

  3. If you’re looking for a way to export your project while keeping your links working, I would recommend using the PDF export option. Your links will be working there too.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you need anything else.
