Regularly experiencing crashes when exporting to PNG

Version 4.6.6.
Editor Version: 7.0.0.
macOS 13.0.1.

When exporting to PNG after the first opening of the project in the desktop app, it crashes. After a second and further opening right afterwards, it seems to work.

However, this occurs daily.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. open project
  2. file → export
  3. image format: png
  4. click button “export”
  5. the native file destination overlay does not open, instead the app freezes for a few seconds and crashes.

Happens mainly in projects with many pages.

Ugh, I’m sorry about that, @matejrajtar. It sounds like something may be interfering with our ability to access the macOS save dialog.

Do you have any Finder plugins installed, or maybe kexts (kernel extensions) that would affect apps’ abilities to access system-level things?

Also, are you able to update to the latest version of Ventura? I’m wondering if there was a bug fix that affect this.

Let’s start there, and then we can dig deeper. If it’s easier for you, feel free to Email Us, and we can pick this up there.

Sorry again for the trouble, my friend. We will get this sorted.

Hey @Brendan, thanks for your quick reply!

I updated to Ventura 13.2.1 but the problem unfortunately persists. The only finder (extension?) in my case might be the Google Drive app.

Let me know if I can be any more of help, would be great to have this solved.

Cheers!

That acutally could be it, @matejrajtar. Is Google Drive actively syncing the folder the files are in?

If so, try disabling autosave in the app and see if that helps.

Hi @Brendan, I just checked and actually, Google Drive is only set to the option “Stream files” so it is merely added as an external disc in the finder, allowing to view the cloud files on demand (no files are being actively synced).

I disabled the autosave in balsamiq and will report to you here, in case I experience the issue again.
