Request: Be able to define "selection" color per UI library widget

In our product, we have a different highlight colors for when a button bar is selected (light blue) vs. when a dropdown menu item is selected (light yellow). I like that we can set a global color via the “Project Information” section for the “selection” color, because light yellow works for most items.

But, it would be a great perk to be able to override that color per widget (e.g. the Button Bar properties section).

It would help in terms of clarity of communication when handing off mockups to our dev team so that they don’t think we’re trying to introduce a new standard with a new color.

It’s minor, but I figured I’d throw it out there!

Hi @grebe,

Thanks for sharing your need on this one!

You can easily use another selection color than the default one by overlaying any item with a borderless and semi-transparent rectangle, see the result below:

You could even make this rectangle a symbol if you need to use it multiple times, you would then only need to resize it for any specific control you need to overlay.

Please let us know if that works for you, we’re here to help if not.
