Hey @Eric_Veilleux, I’m really sorry about that frustration with this.

We are also sufferers of this bug, so I know how annoying it is.

It has something to do with a change in El Capitan, but we cannot figure out what. Our friends at 1Password are experiencing similar problems, so it seems to be somewhat widespread.

Our developers are looking for a way to address it, and we hope to have a fix soon. I know that doesn’t help you right now, and I’m really sorry about that.

We want this fixed just as badly as you do.

Any updates on this?

#4

Sorry for the lack of updates on this, @aaronkwhitewf. We will bring it up tomorrow at the dev meeting.

It looks like Agile Bits was able to fix it, so there is hope!

Hey @aaronkwhitewf and @Eric_Veilleux, I have an update! We think we too have found the bug. If you want to give the fix a try, head over to https://balsamiq.com/download/next and grab the latest beta.

Let us know if that works better for you :relaxed:

I installed the new package, the flickering doesn’t happen when I have a single project open. However when I have multiple open at the same time (both minimized & maximized) the flickering is still an issue. Hope this helps.

#7

Yep, seeing it too :frowning:

Back at it!

New build on https://balsamiq.com/download/next this morning, @aaronkwhitewf - if you feel like giving it a spin.

I haven’t seen any issues with multiple windows on this build. Let us know if you see anything!

Everything seems to be working great! Thanks for cranking this out…

I’m still getting this same problem. It’s starting to drive me insane. I can’t even think about dragging to another monitor for presentations… it ends up tucked in the bottom corners if I try to wrestle it.

Macbook Pro | OS X El Capitan | Balsamiq 3.4.5

I’m really sorry about that, UXJoe. We thought we had this one fixed.

Are you able to drag the window around at all? Or does it start flipping out the minute the drag starts?

Is it on your main screen? Or is on a secondary screen?

Let me know and we will do everything we can to get it sorted!

It’s very odd… so I feel that it is attributed to the second monitor (my external display). The ONLY time it does it on the primary is if the edge of the document is extended passed the display (towards the second display)… which brings up another anomaly… that with every other program, when I drag it between the 2 screen, I can see it being rendered on both. With Balsamiq, I have to drag it to the other display and at the midpoint, it will just snap to the other screen and disappear on the previous screen.

It really seems like it’s trying to battle the second monitor.

That sounds like some Adobe Air weirdness. Non-native macOS apps are finicky with multiple screens.

We are going to be releasing an update to the app that has a new version of Adobe Air in it. Keep an eye on http://blogs.balsamiq.com/product/. It should be next week (if all goes well.)

If you still see issues after that, we will dig deeper and get to the bottom of this.

Here’s a quick addition that I just noticed… not sure if it helps. When it IS dragging correctly, I don’t see the panel on both screens simultaneously…as I drag from one to the other. It snaps halfway from one screen to the other… When it is doing the flickery thing…I drag between the screens… I can see the document on both screens at the same time… partially ghosted.
